Connecting People Who Care About Children’s Dreams
Sometimes, meaningful change begins with something simple: a conversation.
A question asked with genuine curiosity. A story shared between people who have just met. A willingness to listen, learn, and perhaps take the first step toward becoming involved.
This spirit was present when The Dreamhouse Indonesia Foundation participated in the ACICIS NGO Fair 2026. The event became an opportunity for us to meet international students, introduce the work of The Dreamhouse, and share the stories behind our journey alongside children.
Throughout the event, we met students from different backgrounds and parts of the world. Some came to learn more about Indonesia. Some were looking for opportunities to volunteer. Others simply wanted to know how they could contribute their time, skills, and energy to a meaningful cause.
For us, every conversation mattered.
Building a Network of People Who Care
One of the missions of The Dreamhouse Indonesia Foundation is to build a network of people who are concerned about children’s dreams.
We believe that helping children pursue their dreams cannot be done by one person alone. It takes a community.
Children need people who are willing to listen to them. They need friends who encourage them. They need mentors, volunteers, supporters, and communities that believe their dreams are worth fighting for.
This is why opportunities such as the ACICIS NGO Fair are meaningful to us.
The event was not only a place to introduce our organization. It was also a place to build new connections with people who may become part of a larger community of care.
When Volunteering Becomes a Meaningful Connection
Volunteering is not only about giving time. It can begin with a simple willingness to connect with others.
For international students who are interested in volunteering with The Dreamhouse, the experience can become an opportunity to learn from children, communities, and one another. Every person brings something different: a skill, an experience, a perspective, or simply the willingness to be present. And sometimes, being present can mean more than we realize.
The Dreamhouse has always believed in the value of community and voluntarism. Our journey has been shaped by people who are willing to share their time and energy for children and young people who need support. New volunteers can become part of that continuing story.
Children’s Dreams Need a Supporting Community
At The Dreamhouse, we believe that every child has the right to dream and to pursue those dreams within a supportive community.
A dream does not grow in isolation. It grows when someone says, “I believe you can.” It grows when a child is given an opportunity to learn. It grows when someone is willing to listen. It grows when a community chooses to care.
Meeting international students at the ACICIS NGO Fair 2026 reminded us that concern for children can bring people together across cultures, languages, and nationalities. We may come from different places, but we can share the same hope: that every child has the opportunity to grow, to feel safe, and to pursue a future filled with possibilities.
A New Connection Can Be the Beginning of Something Bigger
Perhaps not every conversation at the NGO Fair will immediately become a long-term partnership. Not every visitor will become a volunteer. But every meaningful connection can be the beginning of something.
A person may carry a story from The Dreamhouse into another community. Someone may return later as a volunteer. Another person may share their skills, introduce a new partner, or simply become someone who cares more deeply about the challenges faced by children at risk.
This is how a network grows. One conversation. One connection. One person at a time.
We are grateful to ACICIS for creating a space where organizations and students could meet, connect, and explore meaningful ways to contribute. And we are thankful to every student who stopped by, asked questions, listened to our stories, and showed interest in becoming part of the journey.
Together, we can continue building a network of people who care about children’s dreams. Because every child deserves more than the opportunity to dream. Every child deserves a community that believes in those dreams too.
