The Dream House Foundation’s Kupang branch was honored by a special visit on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from Mr. Pieter van der Wilt, Program Manager of our key partner organization, Kerk in Actie.
Flying from Amsterdam to Kupang via Bali, Mr. van der Wilt’s mission was to see firsthand the impact of our programs on the ground.
His visit began at the Sasando Studio, where he was greeted by the talented sounds of the Sasando, a traditional instrument from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Our young members—Ovie, Esmie, Nova, Gio, Angga, and Dea, guided by their mentor, Kak Damaris—performed several songs, showcasing their remarkable skills and dedication.
Following the performance, Mr. van der Wilt spoke personally with the children, listening to their stories and asking about their dreams for the future. The visit then continued to the “Aku Ada” Community, one of the local communities supported by The Dream House Foundation in Kupang. There, he met with several families to converse and gain a deeper understanding of their living conditions and the challenges they face.
The day concluded with a productive discussion between Mr. van der Wilt and the dedicated staff of The Dream House Foundation Kupang. They reviewed the implementation of programs fully supported by Kerk in Actie and strategized for the future.
This brief but meaningful visit served as a powerful encouragement for our entire team. It reinforces our commitment to work even harder for child protection and the fulfillment of children’s rights in the city of Kupang.
