Efforts to strengthen child protection and children’s rights in Kupang are not limited to advocacy and education alone. They also include creating safe, joyful spaces where children can grow, play, and experience meaningful relationships. With this spirit, Yayasan Rumah Impian Indonesia (Dream House) Kupang Branch organized a Kids Day Out activity on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Tirto Sagoro 07 Lantamal Military Swimming Pool, Kupang.
This activity reflects Dream House Kupang’s commitment to ensuring children’s right to recreation, safety, and social connection, especially during the school holiday season.
Kids Day Out as a Safe Space for Children in Kupang
A total of 40 children, accompanied by 5 facilitators, participated in the Kids Day Out program. From pick-up to closing, all activities were designed using a child protection approach, ensuring children’s physical, emotional, and social safety throughout the day.
Through this approach, Kids Day Out became more than a recreational outing—it served as a practical expression of children’s right to play and socialize in a safe and supportive environment, a core element of child protection in Kupang.
Strengthening Children’s Rights Through Recreational Activities
Swimming and water play were among the most anticipated activities. Beyond the excitement, these moments contributed to the development of motor skills, confidence, teamwork, and courage among the children. All activities were closely supervised, reflecting Dream House Kupang’s commitment to best practices in child protection and safeguarding.
For Yayasan Rumah Impian Indonesia, children’s rights go beyond basic needs. They include the right to experience a joyful childhood—where children feel safe, valued, and free to grow.
Dream House Kupang’s Role in Child Protection and Children’s Rights
As an organization dedicated to child welfare, Dream House Kupang continues to implement programs that promote child protection and children’s rights in Kupang, through family accompaniment, education, and child-friendly activities such as Kids Day Out.
Through this initiative, children not only enjoyed their school holiday but also strengthened social bonds, self-esteem, and emotional resilience—essential foundations for their long-term development.
