A Safe Space to Play and Be Themselves
On Saturday morning, April 11, 2026, the atmosphere at Pelle Futsal Babarsari was filled with more than just competition. The field came alive with laughter, energy, and togetherness. A total of 60 children from the communities of Jogoyudan, Sidomulyo, Tlukan, and Wonocatur, along with children supported at the Children Crisis Center, gathered to take part in a futsal activity organized by Yayasan Rumah Impian Indonesia.
For two hours, from 10 AM to 12 PM, the children were not only playing—they were experiencing a safe space where they could truly be themselves. Amid the challenges they face daily, this became a meaningful moment of joy, acceptance, and connection.
Futsal as a Way to Fulfill Children’s Fundamental Rights
This activity was more than just a sports event. It became a meaningful way to support children’s rights futsal vulnerable communities, including the right to life, the right to growth and development, the right to protection, and the right to participation.

The Right to Growth and Development through Positive Activities
Through fun and healthy physical activity, children were encouraged to grow holistically—physically, socially, and emotionally. They learned teamwork, emotional regulation, and self-confidence as essential parts of their development.
The Right to Protection in a Safe Environment
The activity also provided a safe and structured environment. The presence of mentors and volunteers ensured that every child was cared for, supported, and treated with dignity—reflecting their right to protection.
The Right to Participation and Being Heard
Children were not merely participants but active agents. They played, interacted, and expressed themselves freely. Their laughter and voices filled the space, affirming their right to be seen and heard.
Collaboration that Strengthens Impact
This event was made possible through collaboration. Belanesia Team Wear provided jerseys worn by the children, fostering a sense of unity and excitement. Rotary Club of Jogja Merapi (RCJM) also contributed valuable support to make this activity possible.
Simple Actions, Meaningful Impact for Children’s Rights
Through a simple activity like futsal, we are reminded that fulfilling children’s rights does not always require complex programs. A safe space to play, meaningful relationships, and the freedom to experience joy together are powerful steps toward ensuring that every child can live, grow, be protected, and participate fully.
