One of the defining characteristics of children is their strong sense of curiosity. When children are given enough space to explore this curiosity, remarkable things can happen. The Dreamhouse Indonesia Foundation recognizes this and provides that space for the children they support through the Dreamhouse Children’s Forum.
In the Dreamhouse Children’s Forum meeting on August 24, 2024, the children were introduced to new knowledge to further explore their curiosity. The children supported by the Dreamhouse Indonesia Foundation, aged 13-16 years, were trained to conduct small-scale research.
Kak Arief, one of the Dreamhouse Mentors, delivered a session on how to conduct interviews and gather data. The children from Jogoyudan, Sidumulyo, Wonocatur, Tukangan, Tlukan, and Kalasan participated in the session with enthusiasm. In addition to listening to the material, the children also immediately practiced what they had learned by doing simulations with the accompanying volunteers.
The knowledge they gained will continue to be refined and later applied in a mini-research project that the Dreamhouse Indonesia Foundation will conduct at the end of this year. These children will no longer be merely research subjects but will be directly involved in the research itself.
Wow, I’m really curious to see how the research will turn out. Keep up the great work!
