The Dream House Indonesia Foundation held a Family Empowering Workshop titled “How the Environment Participates in Child Protection” on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in the South Meeting Room of the Sleman Regent’s Official Residence. The workshop was attended by families supported by the Dream House Foundation from the districts of Kalasan, Wonocatur, Sidomulyo, Tlukan, and Tukangan.
The speaker for this workshop was Mr. Nyadi Kasmoredjo, Chairman of the Friends of Humanity Foundation (HAMBA). The workshop was officially opened by Drs. H. Sri Poernomo, M.Si, representing the Sleman Regent, Dra. Hj. Kustini Sri Poernomo. Also in attendance to support the event was the Head of the Sleman District Social Services, Mr. Mustadi, S.Sos, MM.
Mr. Nyadi explained that there are three key entities responsible for education: the family, the community, and the school. These three entities must work together. Educating children must be a collective effort. Why? Because children’s rights to protection must be fulfilled. Therefore, parents need to align their understanding of the role of education through family, community, and school.
This workshop concluded the series of Family Empowering Workshops held in 2024, and the Dream House Foundation hopes that the participants will become agents of change within their communities in fulfilling children’s basic rights.
