Mahasiswa Universitas Princeton AS Tergugah Bantu Anak Jalanan Yogyakarta

Hector Betanzos, siswa lulusan SMA Oxnard yang berhasil mendapatkan beasiswa di Universitas terbaik di Amerika Serikat, Princeton. Sejak September lalu, mahasiswa Universitas Princeton ini menjadi relawan di Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM) di Yogyakarta bernama Rumah Impian (Dream House). Our Vision

VISION
Transforming street children and marginal children to become independent and caring people

MISSION
– Become friends to the street children and marginal children
-Accompanying street children and marginal children through personal guidance
-Establish street children and marginal children to become self-reliant and caring neighbors

BASIC PRINCIPLES

Dream House has basic principles as follows: Solidarity and Equality, namely solidarity and love to the neighbors who are weak and not to distinguish race, ethnicity, and religion. Sincerity and Voluntarism, namely Dream House serve sincerely without covert intention other than to help others to become bet-ter. Responsible and Trustworthy, name-ly Dream House manages the resources responsible, transparently and clean, in-cluding financial resources obtained through partnerships with other parties (donators).

WE BELIEVE

• The child has the right to dream and fulfill his dream in a supportive community – the streets are not a place for children.
• The child needs to become a person who affects others – the transformation of a child’s life begins with a dream

APPROACH PATTERN

Dream House approach pattern is:
1. Holistic and integrated, starting from visits and assistance on the streets, providing transitional care facilities to reduce the time children are in the streets, and the provision of shelter and caring of children who are ready to leave the streets.
2. Seeing every street child as a unique individual. Through intensive assistance Dream House pre-sent the character of each child served and designing services according to the uniqueness of each child. Each child is encouraged to find his dream and facilitated to fight for that dream come true.
3. Voluntarism. Officials and volunteers working volitionally based on the principle of solidarity and love of fellow human beings, with no pursuit of personal gain and with no particular political or religious interests.

POSITION AND ROLE

Dream House position is as a friend for street children. Role that is assisting, guiding and facilitating the street children to go to the vision of the Dream House, is the transformation of a private street chil-dren become self-reliant and caring others.

OUR SCHEDULE

Street Contacting:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7 PM – 9 PM

Education Center:
Monday to Friday at 3 PM – 6 PM

Hope Shelter:
Everiday with dormitory for the former street children.

Dream Campaign:
Radio Broadcast in Geronimo FM
Once a month at 3 PM – 4 PM

Radio Broadcast in Radio Q
Once a month at 7 PM – 8 PM

Parents Empowerment:
Third time a weeks
