Yayasan Rumah Impian or The Dream House Foundation was started in Yogyakarta, in 2006. The Dream House has been focusing its work on the issue of street children and high-risk children. We treat street children as our own Family and we believe that they should have the same opportunities to be able to achieve that dream as any other child.
Hope Shelter is one of our main program by taking in street children who want to go back to school. The children who are living in the Hope Shelter live here with the permission and under supervision of their parents/family/guardians, and granted a full scholarship for their daily needs, school, and extracurricular activities paid by the Hope Shelter.
Rumah Impian is on a mission to transform underprivileged children to be loving, caring, and independent adults. We need help because we cannot afford education for all the kids we are trying to help.
Now, there are 16 ex street kids living in the in Hope Shelter who receive quality education everyday. Outside the Hope Shelter, Rumah Impian takes of 80+ high risk children and street kids and currently graduated 80 former street children. In fact, there are three among the 16 currently facing national examination and processing to go to higher education after high school.
